How did you become the general manager for Cottonwood?
I started at the bottom. When Cottonwood didn't have an opening for a massage therapist, I begged our owner, Linda to let me do free chair massage in the reception area to prove myself....needless to say, my boss rewards hard work.

I'd say my ability to make people laugh...it's hard to stay mad at me!

As a manager, what is your biggest challenge?
Are you kidding? Making women happy all day!

How would you differentiate Cottonwood from other salons or spas?
We try harder! We are constantly working on better systems, customer service skills, leadership skills and all areas of education. We never stop learning.

What do you like best about working at Cottonwood?
We work for a company that values it's employees, and is open to ideas that make things better. That's a rare thing.

I started as a Nail Tech. After a while I wanted something more challenging. My boss Linda recognized something in me that she says "I was born to do", and I was promoted to Inventory Administration. I LOVE MY JOB !!!

I'm a calm, analytical and rational person......with a useful sense of humor !

As a manager, what is your biggest challenge?
Coaching people on assuming the PERSONAL responsibilities of their careers.

How would you differentiate Cottonwood from other salons or spas?
We CARE that our employees SUCCEED! Sadly, only 1 in 100 beauty school graduates survive in our demanding industry --- we do everything we can to make sure that WE are not part of the reason for those failures.

What do you like best about working at Cottonwood?
It's so remarkably CHALLENGING! As Education Coordinator I get to help our staff grow their careers...I feel that I am fulfilling "My Purpose" in the world. I'm doing something GOOD.
